Small world play. Best recipe for engaged play: playdough, loose parts and good quality figurines 🐰🐰🐰

Finger painting tray. I used coloured salt in this tray. Next time I will try adding a few colours together for fun colour mixing.

A few warmer days before the cold finds us again. Our regular walk to feed the squirrels and birds in the park. We are usually able to spot blue jays, cardinals and woodpeckers here 🌰🍁🍂🌰

These cute hanging bird feeders are so fun to make with the little ones. We made them with peanuts, raisins and dried apricots. Lots of fun and tasting.

Our books for this week. We especially enjoy the Bear book collection (second photo). These books are beautifully illustrated and fun.

Recycling fall pumpkins. We made a few of these bird feeders using the pumpkins left over from our fall decorations. They are stuffed with pumpkin flesh and various seeds. We love watching all the birds and squirrels that come to visit.

I never noticed we had so many beautiful varieties of evergreens around our neighborhood. Children make you appreciate the small things in life. We collected these on our walk today. We talked about concepts such as soft and sharp, tall and short. Nature is always beautiful even if it is drizzling and gloomy outside. ⛄❄💦

Life at the forest pond sink play. Fun and easy clean up which is always a bonus.

Always follow the child - so today I made this beautiful "under the sea" play invitation for Nicole. She saw me using the food colouring bottles to colour the water blue. Swipe to the next photo to see what she ended up doing the entire evening. She did not play with my set up for even one minute. Instead we learned about colour mixing and made a whole lot of mess (I meant memories) 😁👍
