Respect for the child. This is what shapes our philosophy as a school, and at large as Montessorians. Every child deserves to be treated with dignity, empathy and patience. It is our job as educators to connect with each child, understand their needs; make them feel heard and ultimately, get to know who they are as a unique individual. It is our greatest joy to see the children in our care begin to feel a sense of home in our space and form connections with our community. This all starts with respect.

👋🏽 Meet Angie, our Community Coordinator and Support!

Angie has been working with children for over 15 years! Angie started out as an Assistant Teacher and obtained her Montessori Primary Training in 2017. She joined Odyssey as the Casa 2 Guide back in 2018, and ever since has been a part of our Odyssey team!

This year she stepped in as our Community Coordinator & Support. We are so excited to have Angie continue to support our amazing community this year working with parents and staff, and supporting the classrooms throughout⭐️

Fall activities making their way into our classrooms 🍁

Many material in our classroom are designed to be used independently. But this does not mean children can’t work together. One of the beautiful things about the Montessori classroom is the fact that children can work with not only what they’d like, but also where they’d like and when they’d like.

Children will often choose to sit beside a friend or group of friends to work on their activities, observe each other and share their accomplishments.

Stop and smell the flowers 🌸 this adorable YCC child wanted to share flowers from her backyard at home with her friends, so they brought a little outdoors indoors and did a circle activity with the petals.

Today we celebrate the 10 year work anniversary for Rose, Umay, and Marie 💫 10 years ago today these 3 joined Odyssey as the Casa 2 team.

10 years later with new roles, and with children now in our programs (Roses child graduating this year!), here we are. They have not only grown imparted love, knowledge and respect for each child that has walked through their doors, but also become like a family here at Odyssey.

Here's to a decade of excellence. Thank you for being the heart and soul of our school.🌟
