On Tuesday of this week we kicked off our year of giving back! Our theme this year is One smart cookie and a Cup Full of Kindness and our focus this month was the seniors in our community. We had contacted them about spending an afternoon with them and they invited us to join them for a game of card bingo. Earlier this month we had picked all of the apples off of our apple tree in front of the school and for days we took turns peeling them and then we created some Hot Apple Pie Cookies with whipped cream to share with the seniors as well.
As you can see from the pictures, we had a great time playing card bingo. Lots of laughs and friendly competition! This is what community is all about!
We are looking forward to more opportunities to give back in many ways throughout the year. October's focus is on animals so watch for our next project in the upcoming weeks!
