The Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, Parks Canada Ḥaahuupa Series invites community members and visitors to meet local First Nations knowledge holders who generously share Nuu‑chah‑nulth culture through workshops and immersive experiences.

Join Tourism Tofino tomorrow for the last Washed Up Wednesdays beach clean‑up of the season featuring an introduction from special guest speaker, ƛaʔuuk, Gisele Maria Martin.

🐚 Learn about the history of n̓ačiqs (looking over the water), the ancient clam gardens that line these shores, and upcoming community activities in the area before heading out to help collect and record beach debris.

🧶 Faye Kennington of UkeeKnits returns to the Fibre Art Retreat this fall with a brand‑new workshop designed especially for knitters curious about colourwork.

Her workshop, Bunchberry Headband offers a gentle, west‑coast‑inspired introduction to intarsia knitting.

Faye has been part of the Fibre Art Retreat community since its earliest days. Known for her thoughtful and creative approach to design, Faye creates patterns that inspire knitters and help them build new skills with confidence. Her designs often draw inspiration from the textures of the natural world and the quiet calm of the West Coast. Based on Vancouver Island, Faye remains a beloved part of the retreat community. 🌊🌲 Join acclaimed author, photographer, and naturalist Adrian Dorst for the launch of his new book, The Wild West Coast. Through a collection of compelling photographs, Adrian provides a window into Clayoquot Sound's mysterious rainforest and its wild valleys, as well as an elusive glimpse of many of its secretive inhabitants.

Come enjoy a reading, and book signing, along with light refreshments, as the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust celebrates this latest publication and Adrian’s remarkable contributions, capturing and sharing the stories of the west coast.

🌊 If you’re on the lookout for volunteer opportunities this summer, join Surfrider Pacific Rim to help restore a coastal sand ecosystem with Parks Canada in the Tla o qui aht Tribal Parks and Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, Parks Canada on Sunday, August 9th!

🌾 Sand dunes cover less than 1% of British Columbia yet they play a critical role in biodiversity, by providing habitat for many species while also defending coastlines from the impacts of the climate crisis.

Participants will be guided through a coastal sand ecosystem including learning about the life it supports, what makes it unique, restoration efforts, and the species at risk.

Once on site, you’ll learn about plants of interest and how to identify them and spend the rest of the day managing the dune plants together! Lunch will be provided.

🌱 Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, Parks Canada invites the community to a special cultural session as part of the 2026 Haahuupa Series: Nuu‑chah‑nulth Teachings in a Modern Time with čiisqwał (Nicki Love), blending Nuu‑chah‑nulth teachings with traditional whalebone tools. 🐋

This one‑hour gathering offers a chance to learn, listen, and connect with teachings that continue to guide Nuu‑chah‑nulth communities today and is a meaningful opportunity to experience cultural knowledge shared in a respectful, welcoming space.

🏀 Legacy North Academy, in partnership with the Tlaoquiaht Development Corporation, is hosting a 3 day, no‑cost summit designed to help youth build confidence, resilience, leadership, and meaningful connection through sport and wellness.

From August 5–7, youth ages 9–18 will gather in Tofino for an inclusive summit that prioritizes opportunities for First Nations youth while welcoming participants from all communities.

Thanks to support from Canada Basketball's Unified Assist Program and local partners including Wickaninnish Inn, Tofino Resort + Marina, Tofino Bike, Jen McLeod Photography, Tofino Sea Kayaking Company, and many others, the summit is completely free, removing financial barriers so every youth can participate.

🌊 The Wild Pacific Trail invites the community to enjoy a special one‑hour guided walk with trail founder Oyster Jim Martin. This experience offers a rare chance to explore some of Jim’s favourite sections of the trail while learning about the remarkable story behind its creation.

Over the past several decades, the Wild Pacific Trail has grown into one of Canada’s most amazing coastal pathways. During this walk, attendees will get to hear stories about the challenges, breakthroughs, and community dedication that shaped the trail’s development. Jim will also highlight hidden gems, local history, stories, and insights into the wildlife and landscapes that make this coastline trail so extraordinary.
