Did you know that the best part of our schools is YOU?
Every single day you walk through our doors, you bring unique ideas, energy, and smiles that make our classrooms complete.
Regular attendance is great for keeping up with school work, but it's also about building friendships, discovering new skills, and feeling like you belong.
We want to see your bright face every day because school is simply better when we're all here together!
Drop an emoji in the comments that matches your goal for this school year: To try something creative (art, music, drama)
- To read more amazing books
- To join a sports team or try a new game
- To learn something brand new
Let's see those goals!

Passing the Torch at Spice Tang!
Our SHSM Culinary Arts students rolled up their sleeves to batch 300 bottles of Spice Tang, the signature hot sauce created through their partnership with JR’s Hot Sauce.
This batch marked a special milestone as the original student team behind Spice Tang is graduating and moving on to new adventures, while the next generation of Culinary Arts SHSM students stepped in to learn the process. It was truly a “passing of the torch” moment as students worked side-by-side, sharing skills, knowledge, and a passion for entrepreneurship.
From recipe development and production to branding and marketing, Spice Tang continues to provide students with authentic, hands-on business and culinary experience.
Want to try it for yourself? Spice Tang is available at most local grocery stores throughout Timmins!
Congratulations to our graduating students!🔥🌶️

SHSM Healthcare Students Explore Research, Medicine, and Forensic Science in Toronto!
Mr. Kidd’s SHSM Healthcare students recently travelled to Toronto for an incredible hands-on learning experience that showcased the many exciting career pathways available in healthcare, medical research, and forensic science.
Students participated in the UHN KITE Labs STEM Pathways Program, where they explored cutting-edge healthcare research, engaged in interactive learning activities, and connected with professionals and post-secondary students during a career panel discussion. The panelists shared their educational journeys and provided valuable insight into careers in biomedical engineering, neuroscience, clinical research, and healthcare innovation.
The experience continued with a visit to Ontario Forensic Pathology Services, where students had the unique opportunity to learn about forensic medicine firsthand. Dr. French guided students through a mock case study, demonstrating how forensic pathologists investigate deaths and work alongside law enforcement to uncover the facts behind a case. Students also toured the autopsy facility and learned about the wide range of careers available in the forensic sciences, including pathology, toxicology, forensic anthropology, laboratory sciences, and investigative services.
Experiences like these allow students to connect classroom learning with real-world careers while exploring the many opportunities available in healthcare, research, and forensic science.
A special thank you to the staff at UHN KITE Labs and Ontario Forensic Pathology Services for providing our students with such an engaging and memorable learning experience!
