This is one of the components taught in our in-class under Insurance modules.
People that order food delivery service's which is very popular and convenient, may be contributing to this problem. Restaurants who offer this service and have their name on the vehicle will have the proper commercial or business insurance coverage. The individuals who use their own vehicles to deliver for certain popular delivery companies in most cases, don't have commercial coverage. This would be too expensive for most who deliver food using their own vehicle.
Some drivers don't even know (or want to know) they require it just to deliver food.
Who cares you say. But what if you are in a collision with a pizza delivery driver and they are not properly covered, just like in the story, we all suffer through higher insurance rates, which in Ontario, are the highest in Canada:
