There is something pretty special about hearing a new show come to life for the first time, especially when our BYC students are among the first young performers in Canada to take it on.

We're incredibly proud to be part of this Canadian pilot production with iTheatrics and Music Theatre International, and we can't wait to see where the journey takes this cast.

This season, BYC is giving six young performers the opportunity to take on one of musical theatre’s biggest challenges with SIX: Teen Edition, a high-energy show demanding powerhouse vocals, tight harmonies, bold character work, choreography, confidence, and an incredible amount of trust among six performers sharing one stage.

But this program isn’t only about finding six Queens who can sing. It’s about helping six young performers discover what happens when they challenge themselves, support one another, take creative risks and find the confidence to command a stage.

Because every Queen deserves the chance to find her voice.

Hadestown: Teen Edition invites young performers to step into one of the most celebrated musicals of our time—a powerful retelling of ancient myths that explores hope, love, sacrifice, resilience, and the choices that shape our lives.

Designed for our Pre-Senior performers, this program challenges students to move beyond simply learning lines and choreography. They'll dive deeper into character development, vocal performance, storytelling, and ensemble work while tackling material that is both artistically rewarding and emotionally meaningful.

It's a chance to stretch creatively, build confidence, and collaborate with fellow performers who share a passion for theatre.

Because great theatre doesn't just entertain.

It helps us better understand ourselves—and one another.

Every child has something special to share. Some shine through music. Others through laughter, movement, imagination, or simply being unapologetically themselves.

This season, students will step into the colourful world of Trolls JR., where they’ll discover that the best performances happen when you stop trying to fit in—and start celebrating what makes you unique.

Through singing, dancing, acting, and teamwork, performers will build confidence, develop new skills, and create lasting friendships in an environment where every personality is welcomed and every voice matters.

Because the best part of theatre isn't pretending to be someone else. It's discovering who you are.

Every child deserves a chance to shine. For some, that means singing their very first solo. For others, it's learning a dance, making new friends, or simply finding the courage to step onto a stage for the first time.

This season, our youngest performers will bring the timeless story of Annie KIDS to life while discovering something even more important—the confidence to believe in themselves.

Throughout the season, students will explore acting, singing, dancing, teamwork, and storytelling in a supportive environment where every performer is encouraged, celebrated, and given the opportunity to grow.

Because at BYC, we don't just teach theatre. We help young people discover their voice.

🌾 Where imaginations take their first bow.

Every great performer starts somewhere. Sometimes it's pretending to be a farmer. Sometimes it's singing a favourite song. Sometimes it's simply finding the confidence to stand in front of new friends with a smile.

Theatre Babies is designed especially for our youngest performers, introducing children to the joy of theatre through music, movement, storytelling, creative play, and imagination—all in a fun, welcoming environment where every child can shine.

Along the way, they'll build confidence, develop social skills, spark their creativity, and discover that the stage is a place where they belong.

⭐ When one show just isn't enough.

Some performers catch the theatre bug... and never want to leave the stage.
Encore Ensemble is for students who love to perform and are looking for even more opportunities to grow as singers, dancers, and performers throughout the year.
Rather than focusing on a single production, Encore members rehearse a variety of musical theatre numbers while developing vocal technique, choreography, stage presence, teamwork, and performance skills. Along the way, they'll perform at community events, special appearances, festivals, and select performance opportunities, representing Badanai Young Company wherever they go.

While some opportunities may include festivals or competitions, our focus has always remained the same—building confident performers, creating meaningful experiences, and sharing the joy of live theatre with our community.

Because sometimes...One show just isn't enough.

🐊 AND SO IT BEGINS! 💚
Last night, our Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile JR. cast came together for their very first read-through, and just like that, this very special BYC adventure is officially underway!

Scripts in hand, our cast got their first chance to hear the story together, meet these characters, and start discovering the brand-new musical they’ll be helping bring from the page to the stage.

As a pilot production, there’s something especially exciting about these first moments. Our young performers are among the first to explore this version of Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile JR. as they learn, create, experiment, and grow together throughout the process.

Lots of work ahead. Lots of fun ahead. And we can’t wait to watch it all come together.
