The Lakehead University Nursing Association (LUNA) is a student-run organization dedicated to creating and promoting relationships between all Nursing students at Lakehead University. LUNA serves to represent the Nursing student body as a whole by acting as a liaison between students, faculty, and other organizations concerned with nursing. LUNA also serves to organize and coordinate activities for the Nursing student body, as well as address and act upon any matters affecting the best interests of Lakehead University Nursing Students.

Today, on the national truth and reconciliation day, we solemnly remember the children who never returned home, honour the survivors and acknowledge the intergenerational impacts on the families and communities. We all must confront the past and ongoing harm that has been inflicted on the indigenous peoples. The humility and awareness everyone demonstrate today should be a reflection of our day to day lives as we commit to listening, learning and reflecting on the ongoing damage residential schools have caused.
