Today, our Sr. Drama Tigers brought Westgate history to life in The Tale of the Tigers, an original jukebox musical created in celebration of Westgate’s 65th Anniversary 🧡🎶

From the first scene to the final bow, our talented students filled the stage with energy, creativity, laughter, music, and Tiger pride 🎤 🎬 🐯

👏🏼 📝 A huge congratulations to our student writers Cheya Belmore-Bergman, Lilly Etienne, Abby Peterson, & Jaxon Nitz 🌟 And our student choreographers & vocal directors, Charlie Bois & Madison Chapman✨ Thank you for sharing your creativity and vision with our school community. Special recognition goes to Jaxon, whose idea inspired this incredible project 🎭✨

🎓 Today was also a bittersweet day as our graduating Drama Tigers took their final bow on the Westgate stage! We are so proud of everything you have accomplished & cannot wait to see what comes next for each of you 🧡🖤

🐯 🎶 THE TALE OF THE TIGERS 🎬

Tomorrow, Westgate’s Semester 2 Sr. Drama Class is proud to present “The Tale of the Tigers”, an original student-written jukebox musical celebrating Westgate’s 65th Anniversary 🧡🖤

This jukebox musical follows 3 present-day students as they travel back in time and meet their teachers when they were high school students themselves!

Featuring memorable songs from the 1960s through the 2000s, the show explores the traditions, experiences, and Tiger spirit that connect generations of Westgate students 🐅

We are excited to share this special performance with classes tomorrow in celebration of 65 years of excellence, memories, & tiger community 🎬

Last weekend, our talented Westgate Dance Team travelled to compete at the Ontario Secondary School Dance Festival, joining dancers from across Ontario in a celebration of creativity 🌟

We are incredibly proud of our Dance Tigers for the dedication, teamwork, and passion they demonstrated throughout the season 🩰

Thank you to our Dance Tigers & coaches ✨Mrs. Vieira + Mrs. Green✨ for representing Westgate with such pride and professionalism!

💕 SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY 💕

After a few weeks of celebrating the success of our 2026 school-wide production of Mean Girls: the musical, our cast & crew are proud to officially present a donation of ✨ $5,000 ✨ to local charity, Beendigen ❤️🤍

We are honoured to have welcomed Beendigen’s Operations Manager, Tammy Boyd, & Communications Administrator, Cassandra Blair, to accept this donation 🎉

This experience is about so much more than a musical ✨ It is about students using their voices & talents to give back to our community in a meaningful way 🤍

Our students chose to support Beendigen because of their inspiring commitment to providing safety, healing, and culturally grounded support for women, children, & families in Thunder Bay 🧡

We are so grateful to everyone who supported this production and helped make this donation possible 💕 The impact of theatre extends far beyond the stage 💫
