๐ŸŽ‰ C.D. Howe's Top 10 Moments of 2025-26! ๐Ÿบโค๏ธ

As another incredible school year comes to a close, we couldn't help but look back at all the memories we've made together. Here are just a few of the moments that made this year one to remember...

10. We explored beyond the classroom.
From Maple Tops and the Founders Museum to Kingfisher, skiing at Loch Lomond, Thunder Bay Museum and Art Gallery, listening to the TBSO, hiking at Sleeping Giant, sleeping at Fort William Historical Park, and countless outdoor learning adventures, our classrooms stretched far beyond our school walls.

9. We tried something new.
Our students stepped onto tennis courts, wrestling mats, baseball diamonds, canoeing lakes, coding circuits, and even explored 3D printing. New opportunities helped many discover talents they never knew they had!

8. We celebrated what makes each of us unique.
Whether it was our Human Pride Flag, Indigenous learning experiences, Black History Month, Every Child Matters, creative Arts and Music, or classroom/school celebrations, we continued to learn that every person belongs and every voice matters.

7. We showed our Howler spirit.
Track and field, basketball, volleyball, handball, 3-Pitch, Special Olympics, baseball, tennis, and so many more events reminded us that giving your best and supporting your teammates matters most.

6. We became stronger readers and learners.
From the Reading Olympics and book fair, to coding challenges, science investigations, math problem-solving, and classroom discoveries, students challenged themselves every day to grow.

5. We celebrated together.
Kindergarten Graduation, Grade 8 Graduation, Summer Send-Off, spirit days, performances, tournaments, popsicles, music, and countless classroom celebrations filled our year with smiles.

4. We had an amazing community behind us.
Thank you to our families, School Council, volunteers, community partners, coaches, lunch supervisors, crossing guards, bus drivers, and everyone who supported our students throughout the year. We truly couldn't do it without you.

3. We made new friends and strengthened old friendships.
Whether learning with buddy classes, welcoming new students, or simply playing together at recess, we continued building the caring community that makes C.D. Howe so special.

2. We lived what it means to be a Howler.
Every day, students showed kindness, perseverance, curiosity, courage, and respect. You made us proud in classrooms, on field trips, on stages, on playing fields, and throughout our community.

๐Ÿฅ‡ And our #1 highlight...

The people.

The students who filled our halls with laughter.
The families who partnered with us every step of the way.
The staff who gave their hearts each and every day.

Together, you made C.D. Howe a place where learning happens, friendships grow, and memories are made.

Thank you for being part of another unforgettable year.

โšพ What a fantastic day on the ball field!

Our Blue Jays Affiliate baseball game with Algonquin Public School was filled with big swings, great catches, cheering teammates, and plenty of smiles. While the bats were swinging and the gloves were making impressive catches, the popsicles at the end of the game were a refreshing and well-deserved treat for everyone!

More importantly, the day was about building friendships, showing great sportsmanship, and celebrating the joy of being active together.

A huge thank you to the Blue Jays Care Foundation for supporting both of our schools and creating opportunities like this for our students. Your generosity is helping our young athletes learn new skills, build confidence, and make lasting memoriesโ€”one game at a time! ๐Ÿ’™โšพ๐Ÿบ

What an incredible Talent Show at CD Howe! ๐ŸŽค๐Ÿ’ƒ๐ŸŽธ๐ŸŽน
Our students wowed us with their amazing talents through singing, dancing, and musical performances. From heartfelt songs to energetic dance routines and impressive instrumental pieces, the talent on display was truly inspiring.

We are so proud of all the students who had the courage and confidence to step onto the stage and share their gifts with our school community. It takes bravery to perform in front of others, and every participant should be celebrated for their hard work and willingness to shine.

Thank you to everyone who performed, supported, and helped make this event such a success. CD Howe is filled with talented students, and we loved seeing them showcase their abilities!

Today our C.D. Howe school community came together to create a Human Pride Flagโ€”a beautiful reminder that every single person is unique, valued, and an important part of our Howler Pack.
โค๏ธ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ
Each student and staff member represented a different colour, and when we stood together, we created something far more meaningful than a flag. We created a picture of what makes C.D. Howe so special: a community where differences are celebrated, kindness is encouraged, and everyone belongs.
โค๏ธ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ
No two people are exactly alike, and that's our strength. Every Howler brings their own ideas, talents, experiences, and perspectives that make our pack stronger.

At C.D. Howe, we believe that everyone is needed, everyone is valued, and everyone has a place. Together, we are One Pack, One Purpose โ€“ Every Howler, Every Day.

๐Ÿ›๏ธโœจ A Step Back in Time! โœจ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

Last week, our Grade 3 and Grade 4 Howlers enjoyed an exciting visit to the Foundersโ€™ Museum, where history came to life! Students explored historical buildings, discovered artifacts from the past, and learned what daily life looked like for early settlers in our community.

From hands-on activities to fascinating stories shared by museum staff, our students asked thoughtful questions, made connections to their classroom learning, and embraced the opportunity to experience local history in a meaningful way.

A big thank you to the Foundersโ€™ Museum volunteers and staff for making the day so engaging and memorable, and to our staff, volunteers, and families who helped make this learning adventure possible.

Learning doesn't just happen in the classroomโ€”it happens wherever curiosity takes us! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿบ

๐ŸฅŽ What a Way to Wrap Up the 3 Pitch Season! ๐ŸฅŽ

Our Junior 3 Pitch Team represented C.D. Howe with incredible teamwork, sportsmanship, and determination at yesterday's tournament. We are so proud of the way our Howlers competed, encouraged one another, and gave their best on every play!

A special shout-out goes to our amazing group of Intermediate students who stepped up as umpires, assistant coaches, and tournament helpers. Their leadership, responsibility, and willingness to support younger students helped make the day run smoothly and showcased what it means to be part of the Howler pack.

Thank you to our dedicated coaches for sharing your time, energy, and enthusiasm throughout the season, and to all of the parents and families who came out to cheer on our students. Your support makes these opportunities possible.
