Our mandate is to contribute to the reduction of traffic-related crashes through the understanding of the fundamental processes that support safe driving.

The Centre for Research on Safe Driving aims to enhance the safety of vehicular mobility in older adults in order to support their quality of life, independence, and safety, by examining the effects of emerging technologies, retraining programs, self-beliefs, cognition, medications, and health on safe driving. CARSP | CARSP Conference 2018 | Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals 06/15/2018

CRSD members Dr. Michel Bédard, Jeff Pascua, Shauna Fossum, and Carlina Marchese attended the 2018 CARSP Conference that took place in Victoria, British Columbia where Jeff and Carlina had the opportunity to present their findings.

The theme of this year’s Conference was “Next-generation Transportation – the Future of Road Safety”.

Our interactive displays gave people the opportunity to learn more about our research projects and a chance to try out our driving simulator.

The CRSD was well represented at this years Auto21 Conference held in Ottawa. Two posters were entered into the annual competition. A poster for Erica's project entitled "A randomized trial of a comprehensive training process to enhance safe driving in older adults” earned a fourth place finish overall and a prize of $1500. Great job!
