Check your Class of 2026 Google classroom for our Convocation photo roll (a special thank you to Mr. Battistel and Mr. Diane). Quick tip: the photo roll offers 2 perspectives of the ceremony. Scroll to the end of the first to continue to the second. Also , you will find a copy of the Convocation sideshow used that evening (thanks to Guidance teachers for the months of work it took to put together, as well to Ms. Beach for brushing it up in Canva at the last minute). 🪶🧡🐢 National Indigenous History Month 🐢🧡🪶

The month of June is National Indigenous History Month, a time for all people to learn about and celebrate the histories, cultures, languages, achievements, and enduring presence of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. It is an opportunity to recognize the important role Indigenous Peoples have played, and continue to play, in shaping our schools, communities, and country.

Today, on National Indigenous Peoples Day, we want to share three amazing opportunities our students had this month to celebrate National Indigenous History Month.

Our students had the chance to witness DJ Classic Roots (Joshua DePerry) at 621 Selkirk. His presentation blended music, dance, storytelling, and culture in a way that connects with youth while celebrating Indigenous excellence, creativity, and identity. We were so lucky to have him speak to our students.

We are also still fangirling over here because we had award winning authors, Waubgeshig Rice and Drew Hayden Taylor in our Auditorium. Our Saints read or will read their works in Grade 11 English, and it was so incredible to hear directly from them. By hearing their perspectives, stories and lived experiences t helps us to understand the enduring presence of Indigenous Peoples in Canada.

🎾The Titans of Tennis 🎾

A big congratulations goes out to the Saints’ tennis team. The juniors finished 2nd in the SSSAA junior championship last week, coming up a mere 1 point shy of Hammarskjold. However, their high point total secured our 3rd straight overall SSSAA championship. Special congratulations goes out to Brayden Horychuk, who won the junior boys’ singles division; Zach Earl and Luca Tassone, who finished 2nd in boys’ doubles; Oliver Barbiero and Jackson Gale, who finished 3rd in boys’ doubles; Fiona Agostino and Mara Johnson, who finished 2nd in girls doubles, and Luca Bee and Lily Comeau, who finished 3rd in mixed doubles. Way to go, Saints!
