Recently, Annette Klement, Traditional Wellness Lead with Miskwaa Biidaaban, Spiritual & Religious Care at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, within the Indigenous Collaboration, Equity & Inclusion portfolio, visited two of our Grade 11 World Religions classes on October 7th.

During her visit, Annette shared her knowledge and teachings about healing through Indigenous Spirituality, with a particular focus on healthcare. Students were introduced to the Four Sacred Medicines, smudging, prayer, and the teachings and significance of the hand drum, and learned how understanding and respecting these spiritual and cultural practices can play an important role in supporting the healing, wellness, and overall care of Indigenous Peoples.

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn, ask questions, and participate in an engaging and meaningful presentation. We are grateful to Annette for sharing her knowledge and teachings with our classes.

A reminder that tomorrow, Thursday, October 8th during Period 2, we will be celebrating our Thanksgiving Mass together as a school community in our school auditorium.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to pause, reflect, and share our gratitude for one another and the blessings in our lives. All students are invited and warmly welcomed to attend. See you there, Saints!
