It’s that time of year again. Wonderfully busy for some: horribly busy for others. Remember it’s not a requirement of life to go shopping in the malls. Don’t feel guilty if your child can’t go amongst the festivities. Maybe they just can’t !! 😊And if you really have to. Monday mornings are usually best. 😊❤️

Common FASD qualities : every day is different: you can be hypersensitive and feel too much and at the same time be hypo- sensitive and push too hard on things. Bump into things and not feel pokes or burns. You can be happy one second and furiously angry the next! You might offend others by how close you stand or touch someone or say something that gets them angry. Yet you do not realize it . You may wonder why people avoid you at times. To you this is all a Normal day. Hugs to you ! 😊

Above all else remain calm. The fight or flight response it the first to set off !! Model your good behaviour. Have another person act out a proper response. You know they will be watching 😊😊

Don’t forget. Behaviour is language when it comes to FASD. If Behaviour doesn’t fit the situation co sided sensory overload or lack of understanding a situation. Stop. Investigate. Make changes. 😊

Social distancing? An abstract concept for some, especially with a learning disability! Be patient : teach: repeat.
