As a helping hand to our friends we’ve offered up our front lawn for potato sales this Saturday for in town sales! Come on by and pick up your spuds!!

Potatoes will be available from 10am until 4pm Saturday at 459 Richard Street.

Today is my 16th Birthday! 🥳 🎂 🎉

Facebook suggested I create a birthday fundraiser but they didn’t have a direct link to my favourite cause to support so I’m creating my own!

Teen Challenge needs all the support they can get this year between provincial shutdowns and COVID restrictions that have reduced their fund raising capabilities! This ministry gives hope where there is none and brings lasting change to lives of people living with life controlling addictions. People who are now my friends and who are working to offer the same hope to more still stuck in their addictions!

I’m hoping to find 20 people to donate $25. For that amount you get a tax receipt and I’ll be $500 closer to my goal for Sled for Eternity!

Today was one of our busiest days ever.
At the end of the day we had quite a few baked sticky buns leftover so I told our team to divide them up and take them home to enjoy.
Shortly after we closed an elderly gentleman came to the door.
Kaitlyn unlocked the door and let him know that we were closed but asked him what he was looking for in case we could accommodate him.
He told Kaitlyn that his wife was in the hospital and he had hoped to bring her a sticky bun.
Without hesitation Kaitlyn asked him to wait and came back inside.
She told me his request and said she was going to give him her sticky bun.
As soon as the other staff heard this, they each said, “He can have my sticky bun!”
They practically fought over who was going to give up their sticky bun!
As Kaitlyn opened the door and handed the gentleman 2 sticky buns, I heard him say, “ Oh thank you so much!”
It was such a heart warming moment!
We are so thankful to work with a team that truly understands the spirit of community.

My name is Johnny Faiers and I’m currently 15. I have personally witnessed how Adult & Teen Challenge can change lives and give people hope.

As you can imagine 2020 has caused considerable financial strain to ATC. The government first shut down their Thrift store for 2 months in the early part of the year, then again just recently due to Covid-19. Their major fundraisers have been drastically altered to comply with government regulations causing less funds coming in to the program.

I have a hefty goal to raise $4,000 for this amazing program.

This year I’ll be riding over 100km with my dad on our vintage 1981&1982 Yamaha Enticer 340’s! We’ve put hours into fixing them up to ride together.

Sponsor me for the annual snowmobile ride in support of Adult & Teen Challenge Thunder Bay on February 6, 2021 in Kakabeka Falls.

Another wonderful example of supporting local. A big thank you to Vince Mirabelli, for thinking of the Dew Drop Inn. Vince had purchased the remaining potatoes from Tater Bay and was distributing them in the community. Definitely a tasty win/win for all as the young lads sold out of potatoes and The Dew will use them for our hot take-home meals. Thanks to Jessica (on the left) and Lacey (on the right) for dropping off the potatoes. Nothing beats the taste of local.

Well Thunder Bay that’s a wrap!!

Johnny and Evan planted an acre of taters! They worked their fingers to the bone and harvested approximately 9000 pounds!! Tonight they officially SOLD OUT!!!

Thanks to a generous donor Vince Mirabelli, Broker at REMAX First Choice Realty Ltd and his friends!! They purchased 250 pounds for 2 different food programs for Thunder Bay’s hungry and officially cleaned out our stock!!

There are many many MANY People that made this venture possible. From farmers lending advice and machines, coffee shops advertising and lending us space, local media who reached out and ran our story, friends and family who bought bags, shared our page, and showed up to get their hands dirty harvesting, bagging, weighing, delivering and more! The profits were good, the lessons were better and over all it’s been an amazing experience! Thank you to everyone for all you did to help make this a success!
