World Cultural Dance

World Cultural Dance A group of local dancers who love to perform dances from around the world. Come learn to dance with us, all levels of dancers welcome!

While exploring dances and music from cultures from around the world, we dig deep into the movements and music of each dance style to take the best care in respecting the true nature of the cultures we represent though dance. This inclusive group performs for cultural events, festivals, fundraisers and at seniors homes. Giving back to our community is a must and we do so by sharing with you various dance styles from different cultures around the world in hopes of bringing us all closer together as a community. Or, book us for your next event.

Two days. Two festivals. So much colour, culture and DANCE! 💃🌈❤️

Our weekend was filled with amazing energy as we performed at Festival of India on Saturday and Festival of Colours on Sunday.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to share our love of dance with our community and to celebrate the beautiful cultures that bring us together. 🌍✨

Thank you to everyone who came out to support us — your energy makes every performance even more special!

Flamenco on Tour: An Evening of Live Dance & Guitar
Thursday, July 16 | 6:00 PM (Doors at 5:00 PM) | The Foundry, Thunder Bay

Tickets: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/1993495572922

The Foundry welcomes two award-winning professional flamenco artists to the stage for one night only. Flamenco dancer Lia Grainger and guitarist Matt Sellick present an intimate evening celebrating the passion and precision of flamenco music and dance.

Vancouver-born Lia Grainger has devoted more than two decades to flamenco dance, training in Canada before spending six years immersed in the tradition’s heartland, Seville and Madrid, Spain. A Dora Award-nominated choreographer and founder of Toronto’s Flamencolía Dance Company, Lia was selected to compete at Lincoln Center’s prestigious CERTAMEN USA in 2017 and now serves as co-artistic director of Toronto’s F for Flamenco Festival.

Joining her is Matt Sellick, a Thunder Bay native returning home to share his artistry. A celebrated flamenco guitarist and composer who tours internationally with Jesse Cook, Matt has released four acclaimed solo albums and performed as a soloist with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra and other leading ensembles.

Together, these two world-class artists bring the raw emotion and technical mastery of flamenco to life in a performance that promises rhythm, passion, and virtuosity in equal measure.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience flamenco at its finest, right here in Thunder Bay.
