In Memory of Susan Kelly, excellent Piano Accompanist for Violin Parties and Recitals for Lakehead Suzuki Strings impromptu performance of Rustle of Spring by Sinding. Pat Towell, Sounds of Superior Chorus is quoted at having said that Susan Kelly was the only person she knew who could sing an "A" in tune without using a pitch pipe or instrument. Sussan passed away on September 12th, 2021. She will be sadly missed by the musical community in Thunder Bay and family and friends. "No one is lost who is not forgotten!"

Lakehead Suzuki Strings is now taking registrations for 2025 - 2026 ages 4 and up. Both individual and group lessons are offered, two Recitals a year, including Parent Information Sessions Students can begin violin lessons any time of the year but the year usually goes from Sept. to May, the same as the academic school year. Families are invited to visit the website. Please take time to download the Registration Form or call Loretta at (807) 621-9464 and leave a message. Your child can be measured using the Fiddle Stick to decide what size violin would fit your child.
It is also important that the student has good quality rosin for the bow, in addition to a shoulder rest (KUN is well known) and the Suzuki Violin Book I which includes a CD. Parents are invited to attend the lessons and to learn to play the violin along with their child at the lessons. Small violins are usually available at the Music World Academy or on Amazon.
