Prairie College is pleased to announce Erik Ibbotson, from Geneva, Switzerland, as one of the recipients of the Rodriguez Excellence Award, granting him a full-tuition scholarship to enroll in the Bachelor of Mission Aviation program!

Choosing Prairie for his studies was an easy decision for Erik, who was drawn to the strong Christian community and the opportunity to learn alongside fellow believers. Looking ahead, he is eager to make new friends, get involved in the Prairie community, and dive into flight training. Erik's lifelong dream has been to become a missionary pilot and serve God through aviation, and he looks forward to gaining the skills and experience needed to achieve that goal.

Outside of his passion for flight, music plays a huge role in Erik's life, he loves playing guitar, writing, and recording his own music. He also enjoys quality time with friends, whether hanging out near Lake Geneva or hiking through the Swiss Alps. Throughout his faith journey, Erik has been deeply shaped by Acts 20:35: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” This passage has inspired him to cultivate a servant's heart in everything he does, discovering firsthand the immense joy found in serving others. As he steps into his college years, Erik's primary goal is to embrace the hard work of flight training while enjoying every step of the journey.

Congratulations again to Erik! The Prairie College community looks forward to seeing how God uses his passion for mission aviation to impact lives.

Prairie College is pleased to announce Ezra Amendt, of Three Hills, Alberta, as one of the recipients of the Rodriguez Excellence Award, granting him a full-tuition scholarship to enroll in the Bachelor of Education (Elementary) program.

Looking ahead to his time at Prairie, Ezra is most excited about building meaningful, lifelong relationships with fellow students, professors, and everyone across campus. Ezra sees daily classroom time, along with sports, impact groups, and extracurricular activities, as wonderful bonding opportunities. Following graduation, Ezra plans to pursue a career as an elementary school teacher and senior basketball coach. Driven by a passion for both education and athletics, Ezra hopes to become a Christ-centered educator whom students can trust and connect with, fulfilling God’s calling for his life.

When not in the classroom, basketball remains Ezra's ultimate hobby and passion, though he also loves working out, hanging out with friends, and hiking in God’s creation. Throughout life's journey, Ezra finds deep encouragement in Psalm 55:22, which reads: “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” This scripture serves as a constant reminder that no matter how overwhelming life's problems may feel, the Lord is always faithful to care for those who pursue and glorify Him. As Ezra begins this chapter at Prairie College, his core goal is to stay disciplined physically, mentally, and spiritually, continually striving to grow in all three areas to honor God.

Congratulations again to Ezra! The Prairie College community looks forward to seeing the wonderful impact he will make on campus and beyond.

From August 6–9, Prairie College had the joy of welcoming more than 80 alumni back to campus for Alumni Reunion Weekend!

Prairie’s Alumni Reunion tradition gives alumni the opportunity to return to campus, reconnect with classmates, celebrate significant milestones, and reflect on the many ways God has been faithful throughout their lives. Each year, the 50-year milestone is especially meaningful, with a special Re-Graduation Ceremony. Alumni had the opportunity to walk across the stage once again and receive a Certificate of Honour commemorating this milestone.

Throughout the weekend, alumni enjoyed class-specific gatherings, prayer and worship, campus tours, special presentations, meals, and plenty of time to reconnect and share stories. There was certainly no shortage of laughter, memories, and “remember when…” moments!

For the first time, many of our alumni also had the opportunity to stay in Heritage Hall. While the upgraded residence brought back memories of the dorms they once knew, alumni expressed great appreciation for the new accommodations and the care that went into making their stay special.

Our Development Team was incredibly grateful for the opportunity to host, serve, and celebrate with our alumni family. Hearing their stories from the past many years and seeing the lasting impact of Prairie in their lives was a beautiful reminder that the seeds planted here continue to bear fruit in ways we may never fully see. We left the weekend deeply encouraged by their prayers, generosity, and continued support of Prairie College.
