Hello all! Derek Harley your proud principal here. This is the elevator shaft for our future elevator. We will be celebrating our 100th birthday this year. I’ll be sending out a startup email tomorrow. Please don’t hesitate to send out any questions. We can’t wait to see your kids. They’re are rumours out there that we will not opening on Tuesday September 6th, I assure we will be open ready to teach.

Construction update. These are the new accessible washrooms on the second and third floors.

Construction update. This is the front entrance of the school. This is the wheel chair lift so the gym is accessible for all.

I visited our school today. Dominic the construction
manager gave me an update. The history of the building is definitely showing some of its challenges. But they are powering through. I have included pictures of the framing of multiple new washrooms on the first, second and third floor. Also our new walk way and ramp. The elevator shaft and lifts are a work in a progress. Hope all of you and your families are having a great summer.

Construction update pictures!

Happy Canada Day from the staff of Prince of Wales. Have a great summer surrounded by friends and family.

A new tradition that we started today. All classes waited in the hallway to high five or clap or fist bump the grade 8 graduates as they leave Prince of Wales for the last time.

Claira is the principal of the day. She also won a bet with Mr. Harley as her team the San Fransico 49ers beat Mr. Harley’s Dallas Cowboys. Claira is a future leader no question.

TJ grade 7 soon to be grade 8 student. His tremendous work on the white board. So talented.

Our grade 3/4 class received an incredible gift from the Winger Public School 3/4 class: Crayola Colours of the World Crayons! To celebrate, we made a class banner honouring the beautiful diversity of our class, and our world. It’s because we are different that each of us are special❤️

We have the best kids! Three special grade 6 girls surprised Mr. Azzano with a baby basket for his new born daughter! So kind!

Congratulations to Naveen for winning the Ontario Principal Council Award for Leadership. It was a very successful graduation for our grade 8’s.

Sweet moment caught in Mrs. Vander Vloet’s class this morning. Their seeds have been slow to grow so some of the kids thought if they read them a story it would help them to grow faster and taller.

Ms. Scott, Mrs Dixon and Mr. Zaporzan took our grade 7’s today to their year end trip Niagara Falls. They were amazing! And it was a great day!!

Mr. Harley and Mr. Lowe did a grad rehearsal with these special grade 8’s today at Club Capri for their grad on Monday.

Good Morning Prince of Wales Community, we are still a go for tonight’s Movie Night. We will limit any rigorous activities.

I have been an educator for over 20 years as a teacher/Vp/Principal. I have been a part of 13-15 camping trips to Camp Wahonowin. These grade 8’s were hands down the most behaved and respectful kids that I have ever observed in this environment. Thank you grade 8’s. Thank you again Mr. Lowe and Ms. Hentig. Hope you have enjoyed the posts.
