Had a great practice session last night, recorded 2 sets of my performance repertoire from memory.

Set 1 Closer, Skylark, Summertime, And I loved Her, Girl from Ipanema, Freddy Freeloader, Yesterday, JazzBlues #1, Nuages, Myrelle.

Set 2 Norwegian Wood, A Smooth one, All The Things You Are, Love Me To-night, Ain,t Misbehaving, Blackbird, Laura, In a Sentimental Mood, Jazz Blues # 2, Over The Rainbow,

Used my 1957 Gibson 175 and recorded into a Tascam recorder to create a note book recording for study purpose. After listening back to the recordings, I feel good about the results, each chart consisted of a 32 or 12 bar head followed by 2 chorus if improvised solo. My style of playing could be described as self accompanied chamber Jazz. If you are a player who would like to sit in on my sessions, call me John at 705 828 1062, any instrument welcolme.

Guitars I sold, wished I had not. Left Eastman 805 Right Eastman 905, at the timeI was searching for a tone to match a Flute player I was gigging with, the Eastman tone is great, but would not get in sync with the flute tone, I found a Gibson es175 at the Twelfth Fret in Toronto, really my gig tone now. To learn more about guitar tone and music contact John Weston at 705 828 1062

This photo is Eddie Savage, started lessons at the start of his grade 8 year, by the end of the school year his garage band was the best in our area. He was a natural Rock player, we worked on his guitar chops and improvisation, by grade 11 he really got it all together together. I credit his parents for the support, Eddie became a gigging Rock guitar player. I was luck to have him as a student and friend. For more info call John at 705 828 1062
