Student schedules for the 2026-2027 school year are now available!

Please remember to include ALL required information when emailing schedule change requests. See post below for additional details.

The 2025-2026 school year may have just ended 3 days ago, but we already have our sights set on 2026-2027! For those not mentally prepared for that just yet, we apologize for this post.

2026-2027 student schedules will be released next Tuesday, July 7th!

To view your schedule on that date and beyond, simply log in to your Student Connect. If you would like to request a schedule change, you MUST email [email protected] and include the following information:

- What class(es) you want to have changed.
- The option you would prefer instead.
- The best phone number to reach you if we have questions.

Schedule changes are completed in the order we receive the emails. With over 900 students, it can get busy, and the schedules are completed by Administrators and Counselors who come in during the summer on their own time. Please be patient; all emails will be answered. Please only email one time.

Important notes regarding schedules:

- Our student schedules are generated by a computer software that gets them as accurate as possible to student course requests. We operate around a 92% success rate, which means there are a few schedules that will need to be tweaked.
- Some of our courses, both cores and electives, fill up immediately. If there's a specific course that you want, but it's full, you can go on the waitlist for that specific course. Just let the person working on your schedule know.
- Sometimes, fixing one issue creates multiple new ones. There are only so many courses in each block, in each semester. Some courses only have a single section in one block, in one semester. You may have to compromise, so be prepared.

Besides new schedules, summer has just begun. Enjoy, stay safe, and we will see you in September!

On June 23, 2026, students and teacher mentors of the R.D Parker Envirothon Club (aka Thompson TreeHugger’s) accepted a grant from the Thompson Community Foundation, under the Joe Brain Fund, in the amount of $3,211.35.

The Envirothon Club would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Thompson Community Foundation for its ongoing support and commitment to environmental education. Thanks to your investment, we are now able to purchase a LaserJet color printer for the club along with hands-on learning resources (a variety of skull replicas’, a soil texture testing kit, and Bark Beetle/Forests/Climate Change Discovery kit) to enhance student learning. Students will have more opportunities to explore, create, and connect with the natural world through interactive learning experiences.

Your generosity is helping grow the next generation of environmental stewards, and we are truly thankful for your belief in our students and our vision!

Presenting, the second of two murals to be commissioned and finished this month!

Here is the story of "The Garden of Growth" by Nicole Friesen, assisted by Azelie Turner:

Nicole Friesen, whose spirit name is White Wolf Who Runs with Rainbows, is a proud Red River Métis citizen from Winnipeg. She is currently living in Gillam with family roots connected to St. François Xavier and Cayer, Manitoba. She is a mixed-media visual artist specializing in custom commissions, art classes, and large-scale murals.

Inspired by Woodland-style Indigenous art and Métis beadwork traditions, Nicole’s work combines bold colour, clean linework, and beadwork-inspired dot art to create meaningful visual storytelling rooted in culture, connection, and healing.

The Garden of Growth is a mural inspired by the Seven Sacred Teachings and the journey of learning, healing, and becoming. Each footprint represents one of the teachings—Love, Respect, Courage, Honesty, Wisdom, Humility, and Truth—serving as reminders of the values that guide us through life.

The roots and soil symbolize the strong foundation needed for growth, while the flowers, vines, and berries represent the growth and transformation of students and staff. Just as plants grow with care, patience, and nourishment, people also grow through experiences, challenges, and relationships.

A meaningful detail woven into this mural is the teaching of the 'spirit bead', a tradition rooted in beadwork. In many beadwork practices, a single bead of a different colour is intentionally placed within the pattern as a reminder that neither nature nor human beings are perfect. This spirit bead honours progress over perfection, reminding us to embrace growth, celebrate imperfections, and recognize beauty in the journey.

The Garden of Growth reflects the understanding that growth looks different for everyone, but every step forward matters. Together, these teachings remind us that we are all continually learning, growing, and becoming.
