Northern Music Lab Beginner guitar and piano lessons offered in home-based music school. Teacher bio:

I was born and raised here in Thompson and I love being a Northerner!

My mom taught piano for 30+ years and I inadvertently picked up on the basics of music though I struggled to participate in music lessons, finding myself regularly booted out for behavioral issues. Despite struggling to participate in lessons, I still had access to a multitude of instruments in my home, and my parents were always playing an instrument or listening to music. This led to me forming a deep appreciation for both listening to and making music. In my early 20s, I borrowed a guitar from my mom and was fortunate enough to have a friend show me the basics to get me started. Eventually, I signed up for guitar, singing, and piano lessons and now feel ready to share my knowledge and skill with beginner musicians. I love most genres of music with a specific passion for playing the blues. The guitar is my favourite instrument but I also love the drums, banjo, piano, and ukulele and hope to offer lessons in a variety of instruments someday.

🤔 Did you know that even just 5 minutes of practice a day can make a HUGE difference in your musical journey? Consistency is key! Here’s why making time for your instrument, even for a few moments, matters:

1. Builds Muscle Memory: Short, regular practice sessions help your fingers remember those tricky notes! 🎶
2. Boosts Confidence: Every little victory adds up! Playing for just a few minutes can bring that sense of accomplishment. 🌟
3. Keeps You Engaged: It’s easier to stay excited about music when you’re practicing regularly. Plus, it gives you new things to show your friends and family! 🎤🎸

So, whether it’s your favorite song or a new exercise, let’s commit to practicing a bit every day! 📅

Happy practicing, everyone! 🎵
