Pt. 2 from Smackdown Saturday!

Smackdown Saturday #5 is complete. Smackdown Saturday is a mini chess tournament with some my students to compete and put to test the strategies and tactics they have learned during our lessons!

James and Kevin have been taking lessons for over 6 months and have been amazing to teach! Both are awesome students who love to learning and challenging themselves. They have grown so much in their chess skills, patience and problems solving for chess puzzle with Kevin even winning a trophy at Colasantis Chess tournament

Mr. Oliver and his Dad Mr. Scott have been taking lessons for about 6 months now and both have been terrific to teach! Both of them have a passion for the game and love to be challenged.

There improvement has been reflected by their games they present to me that they’ve played through the week against themselves and Oliver’s uncle. Their hard work and determination to learn, grasp new ideas and implement them have been major parts of their growth.

Amazing students and incredibly smart!

Nico has been taking lesson for over 6 months! Starting from not knowing anything about chess to being able to do over 1000+ rated puzzles and possessing an incredible critical thinking structure when he contemplates moves.

His focus, patience and passion for playing has grown immensely through our our time and is always very fun to teach!

Ms. Zoe has been taking classes for almost a year! She is amazing to teach, super kind and may be the only person who likes chocolate more than me. Her improvement on the chess board has been awesome to watch grow.

The student scores for puzzles has been updated! Taking the results from Puzzle Survival and the latest recorded highest puzzle rating of some of the students. The current rankings are:
