🥋 INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT: MASTER MERRITT 🥋

Master Merritt began Taekwon-Do at five years old and has dedicated more than 35 years to training, competing, coaching and serving the Taekwon-Do community.

Her experience includes:

⭐ 7th Degree Black Belt
⭐ International Instructor and Examiner
⭐ Team Canada athlete at six World Championships
⭐ Team Canada coach at more than nine World Championships and World Cups
⭐ Class A International Umpire
⭐ Owner and Head Instructor of Merritts Ultimate Taekwon-Do

Beyond the dojang, Master Merritt volunteers in leadership and governance roles at the provincial, national and international levels, helping support the continued development of Taekwon-Do.

Her student-centred approach focuses on helping every student build confidence, discipline and indomitable spirit.

🐰 Little Bunnies — Ages 4–6
⭐ Youth Taekwon-Do — Ages 7–12

Our classes help students build confidence, discipline, fitness, focus and practical self-defence skills—all in a positive, family-focused environment.

No experience is required. New students begin with two paid trial classes before completing registration.

Our Teens & Adults Taekwon-Do program is for ages 13+ and welcomes beginners of every fitness level.

🥋 WOMEN OF ITF: INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION 🥋

The ITF Women's Committee and ITF Coaches Committee are pleased to share the results of the ITF Women in Coaching Survey.

This project was undertaken to better understand the experiences of female instructors, teachers, coaches, mentors and leaders across the ITF, identify opportunities for growth and help guide future initiatives that support women at all levels of instruction and leadership.

Over the coming weeks, we will share key findings from the survey, highlight the experiences and perspectives of women from around the world, and discuss how this feedback will help shape future programs, resources and opportunities within the ITF.

We would like to thank all of the women who took the time to share their experiences, insights and recommendations. Their voices have provided valuable guidance as we work to create a more supportive, inclusive and sustainable environment for women throughout the ITF.

Together, we can learn from these experiences, celebrate the contributions of women across our organization and continue building opportunities for future generations.
