Employment Development Centre

After more than 20 years of service, the Employment Development Centre program will be closing today.

For over two decades, this program has supported individuals in building skills, confidence, and meaningful connections to employment. It has been a place of growth, encouragement, and opportunity for so many participants, families, employers, and community partners.

We are incredibly grateful to the dedicated staff who poured their hearts into this work, the participants who trusted us with their journeys, and the local employers and partners who opened doors and believed in inclusive employment.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the Employment Development Centre’s story. Its impact will continue to be felt through the people, skills, and successes it helped shape over the years.

The 2025 Employment Development Center Participant of the Year came to us with a whole host of goals she had set for herself. She worked hard, provided support to her peers when she could and always tackled the difficult things head on with just the right amount of humor.
She has overcome many barriers this year and I'm happy to tell you that soon she will be working in this field . She has applied, been accepted to and is currently working on completing the Disability Support Program at NSCC. She is doing it all while she is raising 3 lovely daughters at home.
