🌾 The Culture of Growing (CoG) project keeps thriving across Nova Scotia’s Black communities! 🌿✨

Last week, our youth in Whitney Pier and Sydney celebrated the fruits of their labour with a beautiful harvest, and on Saturday, July 12th, they proudly hosted a vibrant seedling sale! From the soil to the community, these young growers are building more than gardens—they’re growing knowledge, confidence, and legacy. 💪🏽🌱

Whether it’s harvesting fresh produce, sharing their stories, or connecting with neighbours through food, these moments remind us how powerful it is to plant together and grow together. 🙌🏽

The Culture of Growing (CoG) project continues to blossom across Nova Scotia’s Black communities! 🌻 Over the past few weeks, including June 17, youth from Whitney Pier and Sydney rolled up their sleeves for hands-on farming sessions that go far beyond the garden.

From direct sowing and greenhouse care to preparing meals from their harvest and learning the business of food, these weekly sessions are planting more than seeds—they’re cultivating pride, skills, and legacy.
