Glad to see our students out working in the industry! Thank you to Mi'kmaw Economic Benefits Office of Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council for continued partnerships that create oppurtunity for individuals in this trade!
In partnership with the Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council, MEBO has provided support to individuals participating in the Introduction to Carpentry and Scaffolding Program, a 16-week initiative offering hands-on training in carpentry and scaffolding. The following individuals are on track to complete the program, offered in collaboration with the Sector Council and the Carpenters Union: Lucas Stevens, Dirick Francis, and Junior Herney. They are currently completing a two-week work placement with Lindsay Construction at the new Eskasoni High School construction site.

Yesterday’s Teal to Heal Walk/Run🩵 was an amazing event filled with energy, community spirit, and support for an important cause. The fundraiser helps support the Teal at Home Fund and individuals affected by gynecologic cancer.
From the great music and incredible turnout to the adorable dressed-up pups, it was a wonderful day all around. So great to see the community come together to make a difference!🩵

The Tax Fraud Days of Action took place last week, serving as a crucial reminder of how pervasive and expensive tax fraud can be and why it affects all of us.
Raising awareness, and holding system abusers accountable were the main goals of the week's activities. Tax fraud affects not only governments but also the general public by depleting funds that support community services, healthcare, and education.
Let’s continue the momentum after this week. Accountability is important.

On Friday, we had the incredible opportunity to be part of Skills Canada-Nova Scotia Career Showcase, and what an experience it was!
There’s nothing quite like connecting with students, getting hands-on with carpentry, and watching that spark of curiosity turn into genuine interest in the trade. Moments like these are exactly why we look forward to this event every year.
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat, learn, and build with us, you made it truly memorable. And of course, a big shoutout to Skills Canada Nova Scotia for having us back, and to NSCC Sydney Waterfront Campus for hosting such a fantastic event.
Already looking forward to next year!
