ACT by Vidal is a locally owned company that offers Accent Addition (also known as accent reduction) training. Our Motto: EMPOWER, INSPIRE and MOTIVATE others to reach their full potential through clear communication. Our training programs are designed to accommodate working professionals. Instructors deliver on-site group training sessions during lunch, in the evenings, or on weekends. Over 8 weeks, our Accent Addition instructors will equip newcomers with the tools to:

• Communicate clearly- to minimize people from asking you to repeat yourself.

• Speak with confidence - when speaking to staff, management and community members.

• Increase career advancement opportunities - teaching you how to clearly convey your knowledge and expertise to management.

• Enhance presentation skills - allowing the audience to focus on your message and not your accent.

We’re honoured to welcome Charlet Muskwe, Founder & Executive Director of Baobab Black Seniors Health and Social Care Services Society, to the 5th Annual Phenomenal Black Women Networking & Social.

A daughter, sister, mother, aunt, community champion, carer, and Black health advocate, Charlet brings her Zimbabwean roots and a deep commitment to community into everything she does.

Her approach is grounded in Hunhu/Ubuntu: “I am because we are.”

Through her leadership, Charlet advocates for dignity, belonging, cultural safety, and meaningful connection for Black seniors across British Columbia.

Her vision is powerful and deeply personal:

“No Black Senior Left Behind.”

A vision where Black elders are seen, valued, connected, and given space to share their wisdom with the generations that follow.

✨ *Words. Creativity. Community. Giving Back.* ✨

On *Saturday, August 15th, I had the pleasure of being part of **Wordsmith, an evening celebrating poetry, storytelling, creativity, and community at **Grunt Gallery*. 🎤🖤

It was wonderful to experience the work and voices of the featured poets: *Benn Maria, Kristina Bonface, Shivalika, Sol Diana, Frehiwot, and Francis Arevalo.* What a beautiful reminder of the power of words to move us, challenge us, connect us, and tell stories that deserve to be heard.

A special shoutout to *Marlo and Ivana, the founders of Wordsmith, for creating this space and for inviting **ACT by Vidal Society* to be one of the nonprofits featured in the silent auction.

And a heartfelt *THANK YOU to Eden Salon & Boutique* for generously donating the silent auction gift item, with the proceeds going to support *ACT by Vidal Society*. 💛 Your generosity helps us continue our work creating culturally affirming spaces, supporting inclusive leadership, and building stronger communities.
