Assuming ///
Often parents will find frustration comes from assuming your child with ADHD should do what is ask without understanding what they may need from you to do it.
💫 Planning to avoid rushing is key. This might include allotting enough time to complete a routine, creating visual cues to help keep a child on task and pairing access to something desired contingent on completing the less desired task.
💫Coaching to use these tools is also key. This means helping a child use the tools not just leaving them with them.
When we STOP assuming and START planning to coach it can have a real positive shift in the home.
Save this reminder for when you find yourself in an assumption loop 😉
