Yesterday was the first day at the South Fraser Festival. So much music making, happy kids and families ❤️❤️🎵🎶. Such a celebration all the way around. I had such a great time that I forgot to take photos with all students. Only managed one picture with Lexin. She was a happy girl yesterday!!👏🥳
Congratulations on your wonderful performance!

Certificates designed and adjudication sheets done for the South Fraser piano festival starting Monday! So excited to have an in-person event where we can finally have all the kids come together to make music, learn from the adjudicators and celebrate all the students’ hard work and performances! Also looking forward to connecting with my lovely colleagues❤️😊
Rhythm dots game with this cutie!
5 minutes at the end of lessons for a quick rhythm and beat subdivision activity❤️😊
Fountain in the Rain, a beautiful work by Gillock and I’m really delighted that it’s now included in the new RCM 2022 syllabus!
Such a wonderful teaching piece as there are so many skills to gain. Balance, musical phrasing, pedaling, rhythmic evenness, the flowing lines and nuances. So proud of Frannie for working hard on all the little details to bring this work to life!
This has got to be one of my favourite works by Debussy. The dreamy quality you need for this piece is so difficult to achieve yet so magical when it happens on this beautiful Reverie. Teaching this is such a challenge but what a joy it is to work with Xavier. He’s such a sensitive musician and seeing him develop this artistry over the years has been so fulfilling ❤️
Season’s greetings to all. Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and peaceful year, and lots of music making in the year ahead. This was recorded on Christmas Day with my two boys, grateful to be able to make music with them ❤️
Yesterday’s Zoom performance class! We played Secret Carols 🎄 after everyone performed and the kids love it. What a fun sight singing activity!! 😊
A game for for tonight’s performance class!

Keeping consistent articulation has always been a challenge when students work on a piece but these circle stickers seem to do the trick to get students to pay A LOT more attention to their music 😊. Sophie nailed all the slurs and had fun drawing smiley faces on each one! Does anyone have any other ideas besides this? I know some of you have used highlighters. Would love to hear more.
Excited to surprise students with some smiley face stickers I created 😊
