Position: Project Manager

Reports to: Senior Project Manager

Position Description: The Project Manager will assist in the management of multiple projects and provide support to the other project managers. They coordinate projects, schedule, track the progress of projects and report their results. Initially working under the direct supervision of a Senior Project Manager they will quickly transition to independently managing projects. Significant potential for growth to oversee building envelope remediation projects with multiple trade scopes.

Ideal Candidate: As a Project Manager you are a highly organized and motivated individual. You take direction well but are also an independent self-starter. You will effectively manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines. Strong attention to detail and working well under pressure in a fast-paced environment are key attributes you must possess.

Responsibilities:

o Develops pre-construction project plans.

o Coordinates labour, sub-trades and materials.

o Reviews and ensures compliance with contracts, drawings and specifications.

o Tracks the progress of projects and reports on their results.

o Attends meetings and distributes minutes where required.

o Provides accurate financial forecasts to management.



Education

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in one or more of the following fields:

o Building Sciences

o Construction Management

o Construction Technology

o Architectural Technologist



Experience & Knowledge

o 2 - 5 years experience in Building Envelope or similar field.

o Carpentry and Wood Frame Construction.

o CCDC Construction Contracts

o PMP Designation is an asset.

o Microsoft Project (Proficient)

o Negotiation & Conflict Resolution

o Risk Management.

o Excellent communication skills & organizational skills (Verbal and written)

Our Client, an internationally renowned manufacturer of high-speed military / professional boats, system and accessories is looking for a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) to join their team. While we would prefer an individual coming from the boat building industry, we are open to candidates from other industries.

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the Technical Department and outside resources in the design/development of high-speed military/professional boats, systems and accessories.

This includes -
Provide management with costing, resource requirements and scheduling requirements for new development projects.
Design/development of new boat models(4 meters to 15 meters overall length) in aluminum or composite construction.
Design/develop new features and accessories for military/professional boat applications.
Oversee the qualification of new products.
Update/modify existing designs to take advantage of new materials and processes.
Coordinate outsourced and in-house design/prototyping resources on new product developments.
Identify solutions to customer-specified mission requirements.
Assist the Engineering department with production engineering for new or custom projects.
Provide Sales/marketing department with technical input for proposals and advertising.
Provide Quality Assurance department with the test procedure and pass/fail criteria.
Interact (verbal and written communication) with clients, suppliers and other departments.

QUALIFICATIONS
University degree in Naval Architecture and/or Mechanical Engineering
Professional Engineer Licence required.
Proficient in the use of Autocad, Solidworks, Rhino software.
Proficient in the use of Office software (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
Proficient in planning craft hull design and hydrostatic analysis.
Proficient in outboard and inboard diesel propulsion system design.
Working knowledge of ABYC and ISO small boat construction guidelines.
Fluent in English written and verbal communication
French language proficiency desired.
Canadian passport and able to travel outside Canada.
