The current government is anti-fi***rm and anti-law-abiding safety and has threatened in the future to move some of your Non-Restricted guns over to the Restricted list (so you would still be allowed to own them).
If there was a change in government, we know that they would reverse the ban/freeze. Therefore you would be ready and able with an existing Restricted license to purchase those types of fi****ms
