It was with great sadness to learn that retired Fire Chief Al LeQuesne passed away yesterday surrounded by his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and all who knew him.

Chief LeQuesne served Langford as Fire Chief for over three decades and through his leadership, established the foundation of the fire department we have today. Al joined Langford Fire in 1952 moving up the ranks until he became Fire Chief in 1965. He retired in 1996 after an incredible 44 years serving his community.

Flags at City Hall and Fire Stations will be at half mast in recognition of Chief LeQuesne's dedication, commitment and service to the residents of Langford.
