🌿✨ SAVE THE DATE ✨🌿
Something magical is coming to the forest…

Join us May 29 at Kids in Nature for our annual Fundraiser Party: an evening of community, connection, and good old-fashioned fun in the woods 🌲🔥

Think:
🌶️ Chili Cook-Off (bring your best!)
🎶 Live Bands
🎁 Prizes
💃 Dancing under the trees
…and more surprises to come

💫 This year, we’re fundraising for something BIG:
A Geo Dome for our forest school!

A geo dome is a beautiful, round, open-concept structure designed to bring people together, rain or shine. It will give our children a year-round gathering space for learning, creativity, music, storytelling, and community connection… all while staying immersed in nature.

Imagine circle time in the rain, workshops in the winter, and shared moments that feel both grounded and magical. ✨

Chimney takes the beach 🐓🌊

Our beloved rooster Chimney joined our Home Learners for a seaside adventure today, and let’s just say… he thrived! From curious shoreline exploring to basking in the sunshine, he reminded us that nature-based learning can happen anywhere (and that confidence comes in all feathered forms).

A little salt air, a lot of wonder, and one very happy rooster ☀️

✨🌿 Magical Connections & Kinship 🍄✨

Some of our K.I.N. team just returned from a truly unforgettable weekend in Colorado, where we were welcomed with open arms by the incredible Seedlings Kindertribe, a Waldorf nature preschool rooted in connection, creativity, and outdoor learning.

We went to learn about their beautiful geodome…
But we came home with so much more. 💛

✨ New friendships
✨ Deep team bonding
✨ Courage!
✨ And a renewed sense of what’s possible for K.I.N.

The magic didn’t stay in Colorado—
It’s coming home with us… and growing 🌱

This June, we’re bringing that vision to life.
A geodome of our own. A space for gathering, learning, dreaming, and connection, through all seasons.

Let’s build something magical, together!
Stay tuned for more info ☺️☺️☺️

🌿✨ Scenes from Spring Break at K.I.N. ✨🌿

Two weeks of wonder, wandering, and wild discovery…

From tiny hands gently holding caterpillars to wide eyes meeting a praying mantis, our young explorers dove into the fascinating world of insects with a special visit from a passionate bug expert (an entomologist! 🐛).

We built, created, and learned new skills during our woodworking experience, where imagination met real tools and confidence grew with every turn and tap.

In between, the magic of free play led the way…
Through forest trails, muddy paths, secret spots, and endless outdoor adventures 🌲

We visited our neighbours’ cows at Hazelmere Farm, connected with animals, and soaked up the simple joy of being outside, together.

This is what childhood looks like when it’s rooted in nature 💛

🌿 Growing Connections Across Generations 🌿

Our third collaborative intergenerational gathering with our friends at Amica White Rock was filled with joy, curiosity, and heartfelt moments, and we’re so excited to share that these gatherings will now be happening monthly ✨

This Good Friday, our K.I.N. kiddos and community friends spent time connecting with residents through simple, meaningful experiences:
🐥 Meeting baby chicks and fluffy bunnies
🎨 Decorating Easter eggs with creativity
🍬 Sharing sweet treats and sweet conversations

There is something truly powerful about bringing generations together: watching bonds form, stories shared, and smiles mirrored across ages. These are the moments that remind us what community really means 💛

We can’t wait to keep growing these connections, one gathering at a time.

Let us know if you’d be interested in joining our next intergenerational gathering!

🌿🥚 Our Farm Stand is Open! 🥚🌿

We’re so excited to introduce our new K.I.N. Farm Stand, now set up right beside our parking lot!

Stop by and take home farm fresh eggs from our very own chickens, raised right here on our land, by the same little hands that help care for them every day 💛

This isn’t just about eggs… it’s about connection.
Connection to where food comes from, to the rhythms of nature, and to a small, local community rooted in care and stewardship.

When you grab a carton, you’re:
🌱 Supporting hands-on outdoor learning
🐓 Honouring the animals our children help care for
🌎 Choosing local, low-impact food
💛 Investing in a community-centered space for children to grow

It’s a small stop, with a big story behind it.

Swing by, take what you need, and feel good about where it came from 🌲✨

🌿✨ A quiet moment in the forest ✨🌿

Today, Ms Jen came across a tiny Golden-crowned Kinglet, one of the smallest and most delicate birds in our forests. Though no longer living, this little one offered us something incredibly meaningful: a moment to pause, observe, and learn.

With care and respect, the children gathered close. We noticed the soft olive feathers, the bright golden crown, and the intricate details we might otherwise miss when these birds flit high above us in the trees.

In nature-based learning, even death is part of the story. It opens space for curiosity, compassion, and understanding of the full cycle of life. The children asked thoughtful questions, shared gentle observations, and honoured this tiny life in their own ways.

At Kids in Nature, we believe learning doesn’t only come from the lively and joyful moments, but also from the quiet, reflective ones that connect us more deeply to the natural world. 💛

🦆✨ Home sweet home… K.I.N. style ✨🦆

Our ducks are settling into their newly constructed home, and let’s just say… they’re pretty pleased about it. Cozy, safe, and surrounded by nature, just the way it should be.

Did you know?
Ducks are incredibly social and intelligent animals. They communicate with each other using different sounds and body movements, and young children actually learn so much by observing animals like ducks. Watching how they interact helps build empathy, language development, and an understanding of relationships in the natural world.

At Kids in Nature, these everyday moments, like caring for and observing our ducks, become powerful learning experiences.

Spring is springin’… and our sensory path is almost back 🌱👣

The forest is waking up: moss softening, earth thawing, sunlight stretching deeper through the trees. Not quite ready… but so close.

Soon, little feet will wander barefoot again, feeling every texture, every shift, every quiet bit of magic underfoot.

At Kids in Nature, we don’t rush the seasons… we follow them. 💛

Stay tuned— sensory path days are just around the corner.

🎥 A little glimpse of what’s to come… sound on for the forest magic! ✨✨✨
