Welcome to the Bear Creek Xmas Train. Theres two trains to cjoose from : Tickets for the day train are $11.50 per person for ages 2 and up. Children under the age of 2 are free. Come enjoy a train ride through the decorated forest, crafts, treats, and a visit from Santa. Tickets for the day train are available for purchase in-person. For the night train we are open from Dec 4th-Dec 29th from 6pm-10pm. Pls note night train is closed on Monday and Tuesday nights. Tickets for the night train are $12.50 per person for ages 2 and up. Children under the age of 2 are free. Come visit the Grinch and a train ride through the decorated forest. Purchase tickets online to avoid lineups. Tickets may also be purchased in-person. We are wheelchair accessible and we accept access cards. Are your kids acting out? From my experience, it’s not a lack of understanding that causes kids to act out. It’s a lack of consequences. As adults we’re the same way. So how would I approach kids acting out? If they are three and older, there's a consequence, and then just move on. With toddlers (I consider 16-35 months) it's consistent corrective actions. No holding a grudge; let it go once it's been dealt with. Parenting leaders deal with bad behaviour, but then they move forward. Right back into connecting with their kids. Where you put your energy and focus is what grows 🪴 So my advice? Put your energy into the good in your kid, not in discussing bad behaviour. P.S. 🚫 Are you making this mistake when expecting your toddler to follow directions? You are telling them a direction with a negative in it, for example “Don’t touch that” or “Stop hitting” and your child does exactly what you just tell them NOT to do. Negatives are tricky for toddlers because they involve more complex processing and language skills. They first require the child is able to cognitively understand and process what they shouldn’t do and then figure out what they should do instead. If you're not playing with your kids in their world and having fun with them, and laughing with them and enjoying them … none of this leadership parenting is going to work. Their love language is fun, play, humour … lighten the mood, have fun with them. Leadership parenting is all about connecting with your kids. Now, you still deal with bad behaviour, you don’t let anything go. But it’s quick, just say I didn’t like that and have a consequence, then go right back to focusing on the connection.
