PEI Acadian Research

I am descended from 5 of Pierre Arsenault 9 children, From both his sons with Marie Dugas and from Jacques, Claude and Abraham (Petit Abram) with Marguerite Guerin. This dual family is both my 6th and 7th Great Grand Parents. Over the last couple of days I tagged him in my program and made sure all the references are up to date. New book for me to add to the PEI Collection - "A Genealogy of Jenkins Families of Prince Edward Island" It is Volume III of Three, got it at a second hand store, they did not have the other 2 volumes. Some intermingling with Arsenault, Blanchard, Boudrot, Gallant, Peters Perry - Poirier, etc

Another awesome book released yesterday at the Miscouche Museum, it shows the genealogy of all the residents of Saint Hubert, lots of great pictures also. Limited copies were published, but as of this afternoon the author had a couple of dozen left. Message me if you need his email address to order one.

Arsenault and Perry cousins and friends, it is with great sadness, that our mother and grandmother, Marie (Arsenault) Perry passed away last night, Friday, September 13 at Prince County Hospital here in Summerside. It has been 30 days since the passing of her husband Elmer. We are heartbroken about losing a women we loved so much. I will post more over the few days.

Arsenault and Perry cousins. With a sad sad heart my father and your Uncle Elmer passed away peacefully tonite August 15 at Prince County Hospital here in Summerside. Go with God Dad. And give Christopher a big hug for us. I love you.

Bonne Fete Acadie!

It was a long hard and very informative read, 365 pages, A.J.B. Johnston's "ENDGAME 1758, the promise, the glory, and the despair of Louisbourg's last decade" Mr. Johnston goes over in minute detail the events of the last few years of a French controlled Louisbourg. So much information, it truly is a great reference book by one of Louisbourg's foremost historians. Cape Breton University Press, 2007, ISBN978-1-897009-20-8

Finished reading The Hidden Heritage by James B. Lamb, 100 pages. History of village down the coast from where Louisbourg was built. Author claims it is a better harbour but freezes over in the winter, so was not chosen to be France's main fortress. In the other books I have read this year very little mention, if any, is made of St. Anne's. Mr. Lamb transitions his story from an Acadian village to a Scottish village and it is now where the Gaelic College is. Interesting read and background to round out my reading this year.
