When your child is shouting, throwing toys, refusing to listen or lashing out, it can feel impossible to stay calm.

But children often borrow our calm before they can find their own.

Pause. Take one slow breath. Lower your voice. Notice what is really happening. Set the boundary clearly. Follow through. Then reconnect.

You can accept the feeling without accepting harmful behaviour:

“It’s okay to be angry. It’s not okay to hit.”
