A Grade 8 class from Summerland Secondary School visited a Grade 2 class at Summerland Elementary to share learning about Orange Shirt Day. Students worked together to create beautiful orange necklaces and reflected on the importance of remembering that Every Child Matters. 🧡

A group of Grade 9/10 students from SSS paired up with a Grade 4 class at Summerland Elementary today to share learning around Orange Shirt Day. Together, they created pins to wear this Monday. Don’t forget to wear your orange shirt on Monday in honour of Truth and Reconciliation.

Hey Summerland - join us at SSS in the new gym this Sunday from 2:00-4:00pm to celebrate and send off our Sr. Boys Basketball team to provincials - there will be games, prizes, a bake sale and a live viewing of the Provincials Seeding!

Ashley Tiessen, a student at Summerland Secondary School, has taken an inspiring step towards reconciliation with her project at the Summerland Ornamental Gardens. What began as a seed, blossomed into a meaningful contribution to the community.
Ashley created labels for several of the garden's plants, each featuring the Nsyilxcen word for the plant along with phonetic pronunciation. To enhance learning, she also incorporated a QR code, which directs visitors to a website she developed. There, you can hear the words spoken by Taylor Lezard.

The Summerland Secondary Musical Theatre i son stage is on tonight at 7PM for their Year End Showcase. Admission is by donation and doors open at 6pm.
