🌟 A HUGE Thank You to the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen! 🌟
We are incredibly grateful to the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen for their generous community grant supporting our Summerland Early Learning Centre!

Thanks to this funding, we were able to make some wonderful improvements to our daycare. 🏡💛

✨ The inside of the daycare received a fresh coat of paint
✨ New window coverings were installed
✨ Our outdoor play area was completely revitalized
✨ A new sandbox was added
✨ New gravel was installed throughout the play area
✨ New outdoor toys were purchased
✨ New sunshades were added to make outdoor play more comfortable

These improvements have created a brighter, more welcoming space inside and a refreshed outdoor environment where our children can play, explore, create, and learn.

As a small, community-based organization, support like this makes a tremendous difference. We are so thankful to the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen for investing in our centre and in the children and families of our community.

Boil water notice rescinded!

⚠️ 𝐁𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 – 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞

The boil water notice issued earlier today has now been rescinded. Domestic water within the Summerland distribution system is rated as “GOOD” and is safe to consume.

𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝:

👉 Late this morning, a vital piece of equipment on the coagulant injection system at the Water Treatment Plant failed, temporarily stopping the flow of coagulant to the process
👉 Staff were prepared with a replacement mechanism, and the issue was repaired quickly
👉 Interior Health has now provided the all-clear
👉 At no point was disinfection through chlorine injection ever compromised

We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding while this issue was resolved.

• Bring all drinking water to a rolling boil for at least 1 minute before use
• This applies to: Drinking water / Brushing teeth / Washing fruits and vegetables / Making ice, juice, or baby formula
• Alternatively, you may use bottled water

ℹ️ Tap water can still be used for bathing and showering (avoid swallowing water)
