This is such an emotional day for me.
One of my little is heading off to “big school” as she says 😢
I remember meeting her at less than a year old; sitting next to her, she reached to come to me, it was at that moment I knew she would fit right in. And she did for the past two years!
I’ve been beyond grateful to make the connections I have during the past few years of running my home child care, and I love that most of my the families stay in contact.

3 years ago, I started home child care to stay home with my daughters.
A year later, my oldest left home child care and started school. A couple of days ago, she said goodbye to her kindergarten educators, and soon my youngest will be saying hello to the same educators when she enters school as well. Time has been flying by, and some days I feel like I'm missing it, but I am so grateful to be a part of my kids' early childhood in the capacity that I am, as well as all the little ones that come to see me every day 🩷

After years of contemplating home child care, I finally took the leap, embracing the unknown and silencing my doubts. It's been 2 1/2 years of growth, challenges, and triumphs, but the loving families who become part of my daily life make every moment worthwhile. Thank you for this token of appreciation 🩷🥰

At Ashby Child Care we understand the importance of being kind to each other. Bullying stops here

The sad day when our first child in care officially leaves care. So many memories, so much learning on both of our sides, and an imprint that will last a life time.

Just a friendly reminder that our programs will be closed on Monday, February 16th in recognition of Family Day.

We hope families enjoy a day filled with connection, laughter, and meaningful time together—whether with your given family or chosen family. 💙

Is your child entering Junior Kindergarten in September 2026 or currently enrolled in Junior Kindergarten for 2025–2026? Join us for this fun, free monthly program — starting Tuesday January 20 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Strathroy Library & EarlyON

About the Program:

🌟Participate in fun & engaging activities that support a smooth transition to school
🌟Enjoy songs & stories
🌟Connect with educators and ask questions about Kindergarten
🌟Access early developmental screening
Attend monthly and watch your child — and the program — grow together!

To support focused caregiver–child interaction and meaningful discussion around the transition to school, Kinder Connect is best experienced without siblings in attendance. We recognize that this may not be possible for all families and may present a barrier to participation. We appreciate your understanding.

This program is also available in other locations.
