Hello Fall 🍂

10/05/2026

Yay me!

We are delighted to celebrate Rose Schmaltz as our October Teacher of the Month! Rose has been a treasured member of the Chinook School of Music faculty for many years, bringing so much love, energy, and passion to our flute program.

Rose’s passion for the flute is evident in everything she does. Over the years, she has performed duets with her students and colleagues, many of which have been memorable highlights of our recitals. Her students range from young beginners to advanced musicians, and many have gone on to achieve remarkable success, including winning Gold Medals at both the provincial and national levels of the Royal Conservatory of Music.

Rose radiates joy whenever she walks into a room, and that same joy is evident in every lesson she teaches. Her enthusiasm for music, her students, and the flute is a wonderful part of what makes her such a special teacher.

We are incredibly grateful to have Rose as part of the Chinook School of Music family and are delighted to celebrate her this month!

Get to know Rose Part 1:
Growing up in the 90s meant having all the educational computer games. Treasure Mountain was a quest up a mountain solving riddles and math problems with classical music as the soundtrack. One of those pieces was Beethoven's Contradance No. 1, I was a music nerd before I even played an instrument! 🎶
