Brentwood Elementary

Our Grade 5 students enjoyed a wonderful day at Pioneer Acres Museum! From historic buildings and pioneer artifacts to antique tractors and farm equipment, students had the opportunity to experience Alberta's history in a hands-on and engaging way.

Our Grade 6s got a firsthand look at democracy in action during their visit to the Alberta Legislature! 🇨🇦

Our students participated in a mock legislature, where they debated, amended, and voted on their own proposed laws. After three readings and two amendments, Bill 6: The 4-Day School Week officially passed! 🎉

The final version included a 5% raise for teachers and an extra 45 minutes of instruction each day to make up for Fridays off. From proposing ideas to navigating the legislative process, our students gained valuable insight into how laws are made ⚖️

This morning, we celebrated our May Badgers of the Month! These students exemplified Independence all month long 💙

It was Clay Day in Grade 5! From shaping and sculpting, to adding all the little details, the grade 5s were hard at work creating animal pinch pots. Stay tuned for the final masterpieces 🐾

Our youngest athletes got in on the Field Day fun, too! An afternoon filled with tire races, potato sacks, sponge relays, long jumps, and more! ✨️

Track and Field 2026 🏅

The sun was shining, the kids were smiling, and we had ourselves a great day! There were very close races, records broken, and incredible displays of sportsmanship all day long 💙

A Certified Babysitting Course is being offered on June 7 at the Strathmore Gymnastics Centre for youth ages 11–16. Participants will learn important skills such as CPR for babies and toddlers, choking prevention, and emergency preparedness.

Our Kindergarten and Grade 1/2 classes had an unforgettable day exploring and learning at the zoo 🦒🐒

Yesterday at recess, a group kindergarten students sat together in a circle to work on the details of a game. Instead of jumping right in, they took turns sharing ideas, listened to one another, and worked together as a group before making decisions.

It was a wonderful reminder that even our youngest learners are building important skills like communication, collaboration, patience, and respect for others’ ideas. 🦡❤️
