St.Ambrose Catholic School, Stratford

Pope Francis instituted the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly on January 31, 2021, to highlight the importance of providing adequate pastoral and spiritual attention to the elderly and to call upon communities to manifest the closeness of the Church to them. It is to be celebrated annually on the fourth Sunday of July, close to the memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus.

Here is Pope Benedict XVI's Prayer for Grandparents:
Lord Jesus, you were born of the Virgin Mary, the daughter of Saints Joachim and Anne.
Look with love on grandparents the world over. Protect them! They are a source of enrichment for families, for the Church and for all of society.
Support them! As they grow older, may they continue to be for their families
strong pillars of Gospel faith, guardians of noble domestic ideals, living treasuries of sound religious traditions.
Make them teachers of wisdom and courage, that they may pass on to future generations the fruits of their mature human and spiritual experience.
Lord Jesus, help families and society to value the presence and role of grandparents.
May they never be ignored or excluded, but always encounter respect and love.
Help them to live serenely and to feel welcomed in all the years of life which you give them.
Mary, Mother of all the living, keep grandparents constantly in your care,
accompany them on their earthly pilgrimage, and by your prayers, grant that all families may one day be reunited in our heavenly homeland, where you await all humanity for the great embrace of life without end. Amen!

Exciting summer work is happening St.Ambrose Catholic School, Stratford thanks to BC Landscaping fixing up our Kindergarten outdoor space.

Today was our last day St.Ambrose Catholic School, Stratford with our students. Staff said good bye to EVERY student ( some fist pumps, hand shakes, peace signs, hugs! ) as they exited the assembly. May God bless our community!

Today we rocked our beach day theme St.Ambrose Catholic School, Stratford and even squeezed in a visit by our SK students with grade 1 teacher, Mrs. Schuster. We will miss you Miss Ehgoetz and Miss Roth.
Tomorrow is FIFA or sports jersey day.

With our last four days of school upon us this week, we have planned spirit days for each of them.
Monday: wear a hat.

Tuesday: Beach day.

Thursday: sports jersey/FIFA

Thursday: Canada Day

Friday: summer vacation commences.

Today on Father's Day, let us celebrate all of the inspirational fatherly figures that support us each and every day.🙏
