Today, the Little Ducklings Pre-K put their teamwork skills to the test as they worked together to build two tents and became the very first campers at the Little Ducklings Campground!

Working together to set up the tents gave the children the opportunity to practice important early learning skills in a fun, hands-on way. They communicated ideas, solved problems, took turns, shared responsibilities, and encouraged one another throughout the process. These experiences help build cooperation, confidence, critical thinking, and resilience, which are all essential skills for success both in the classroom and beyond.

Once the campground was ready, the children's imaginations took over as they explored pretend play, created camping adventures, and made wonderful memories with their friends. We are so proud of our Little Ducklings for working together and showing that teamwork makes every adventure even more fun!

This year, the Pride Festival in PEI runs from July 24th to August 2nd. Little Ducklings took part in this festival by having our own celebration of love at the daycare. Through different activities, the children learnt about love and how to accept each other’s differences, having pride in themselves, and rainbows. To finish off the week the Little Ducklings children had their own pride parade.

Today, the Lake had their Family Day open house. It was wonderful to see so many families come together to make this day such a warm and memorable success!

Today, we were excited to welcome Kenneth Linton from the CBC to our centre to film a news story about the Learn to Ride Push Bike sessions the Ducklings children have been doing with the instructors from Cycle PEI.

Over the past four days, our young riders have built their confidence, developed new skills, and most importantly, had so much fun learning to balance and ride. It has been wonderful to see their determination and excitement as they have reached new milestones each day.

A big thank you to Kenneth and the CBC for taking the time to highlight this important Cycling PEI program and the positive impact it has on our children. We can't wait to see the finished story!

Today was the first day of our four-day learn to ride push bike sessions, and what a great start it was! We were joined by instructors from Cycling PEI, who brought all of the push bikes and helmets for the children to use.

The Ducklings Pre-K and Jr. Pre-K children began by learning basic riding skills, including how to balance on the bikes, push themselves forward with their feet, and stop safely. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they practiced these new skills. Once everyone got the hang of it, the instructors made learning even more fun by leading games such as Red Light, Green Light and What Time Is It, Mr. Wolf?, giving the children lots of opportunities to practice balancing, steering, and stopping while having fun.

The children had an absolute blast and were so excited about everything they learned today. We can't wait to see their skills continue to develop over the next three sessions!
