A HUGE thank you to Maggie D for hosting such a beautiful morning/midday. I got to spend time with two incredible Early Childhood Educators Maggie D and Carla Ward | ECE - slowing down, having the kind of conversations that fill your cup, laughing, relaxing, and, of course, doing a little yoga by the water.

There was also:
✨ A refreshing walk
🫐 Sweet peaches and blueberries… in the form of PIE, because obviously 😂🥧
🦃 A few friendly turkeys we met along the way
💛 And some genuinely wonderful company

There’s something pretty special about spending time with other ECEs outside of the hustle of our everyday work. Time to connect as people. To talk. To laugh. To breathe. To move our bodies. And to remember that we deserve to be cared for, too.

Thank you so much for hosting, Maggie. It was such a lovely time. 💛

When I started Miss Jamie Consulting, my goal was simple: to empower early childhood educators, school-age professionals, and organizations through engaging professional learning that makes a real difference for children, families, and educators. Every workshop, keynote, coaching session, and conversation has been part of that mission.

This nomination belongs to everyone who has invited me to speak, participated in my workshops, trusted me to support their teams, listened to the Forgotten ECE Podcast, and encouraged me along the way. Thank you for believing in my work.

☀️ We’re halfway through the summer.

If you’re an educator, camp staff, program leader, or anyone working with children this summer…

I see you.

I see the early mornings, the longer days, the schedule changes, the staff shortages, the vacation coverage, the new coworkers, the challenging behaviours, and the moments when you wonder if you have anything left to give.

Some days feel like magic.

Some days feel really, really hard.

Both can be true.

As we head into the second half of summer, I want to remind you of something.

The children won’t remember whether every activity went exactly as planned.

They’ll remember you.

The educator who laughed with them.

The one who listened to their stories.

The one who helped them make a friend.

The one who noticed when they needed a little extra encouragement.

The one who made them feel safe, seen, and like they belonged.

Those tiny interactions—the smile at drop-off, the extra push on the swing, the conversation while walking to the playground, the high five after trying something new—those are the moments that build trust, relationships, and lifelong memories.

Don’t underestimate the power of those micro moments.

To you, it might be just another Tuesday.

To a child, it might become the best memory of their summer.

So keep showing up.

Keep leading with kindness.

Keep building relationships.

The work you’re doing matters more than you know.

🌟 Preschool Graduation Season 🌟

While I didn’t get to see the group I taught for years graduate this year as I began a new chapter in my career, I was fortunate enough to watch some of these toddlers and preschoolers reach this special milestone.

Graduation season is one of my favourite times of the year. The children are so proud of themselves, and their families are bursting with pride too. Watching their confidence shine as they celebrate all they have learned and accomplished is truly special.

A huge thank you to two incredibly talented families who created these beautiful graduation signs. They helped make the celebrations over the last few days even more meaningful.

As we celebrated each graduate, I was reminded of what a privilege it is to be part of a child’s journey. Congratulations to all of our graduates—you are ready for your next adventure! 🎓❤️
