Early Learning and Child Care ideas and activities Hi, my name is Michelle and welcome to my page.
I am a mother of one and have worked in the childcare field for over 16 years. I have my diploma in Ealry Learning and Child Care as well as my Degree in Human Services Administration. I am a big believer in learning through play and that is how i intend on 'teaching' the children in my care. I am also a big supporter of the Reggio Emilia Approach and hope to eventually apply this to my teachings as well; by having more natural playscapes and loose parts to encourage and promote creativity.

100% agree with this!
Since this pandemic started the amount of parents requesting a more academic program is astounding. I explain time and time again that I base my classrooms on a learning through Play and child lead program and academics are not at all a part of the program. There are times where the childs interests are letters or numbers but it is always short lived and there are so many other ways for us to explore those with more open ended activities then sitting down and writing/tracing.
