***Update*** Rain or shine our Cross Country Race is a go! Come dressed for the weather and ready to run!!!

High Park School is hosting a cross-country race on Thursday, October 8, 2026. This event draws approximately 600-800 racers from the Parkland County area. The race is set to begin at 4:00 pm and run until approximately 6:00 pm. This means there will be heavy traffic and limited street parking that evening, starting around 3:15 pm.

Our leadership students dropped off flyers to as many houses as they could on our main roads and we are also reaching out on community social media pages in advance to let you know about this event, as it may cause traffic issues in our neighbourhood.

RCMP and enforcement officers will be out to assist and no parking signs will be placed by the two entrances to our neighborhood to keep access clear. If it is possible, and not an inconvenience for you, parking in your driveway could clear up some street parking space for the racers.

Thank you for your patience during this event. It is a massive fundraiser for our school, and the kids truly enjoy these races!

Tomorrow is our first Wellness Day of the year for our Junior High students as well our first monthly Hurricane Highlights Assembly hosted by our Junior High Leadership CTF class.

While we usually like to start this assembly at 9:10am, with the Terry Fox run tomorrow we are going to start a bit earlier at 8:45am. Join us in the gym or on High Park's page live, to celebrate learning and come together as a High Park School Community.

Sneak Peek #5 (The Big Reveal!): The New Foods Lab

For our final reveal, we saved something extra special! High Park did not have a foods lab in our building before, but in close partnership with PSD Facilities, we reimagined a standard classroom into a top-tier, first-class Foods Lab!

Learning practical, lifelong skills is a core part of how our students grow and thrive. From kitchen safety and food prep to trying out new recipes, this brand-new space gives our students the exact tools they need to dive into hands-on culinary learning.

Our spaces are clean, our technology is set up, our doors are open, and our hearts are full. We can’t wait to see all of our High Park students back in the building!

Which of these 5 updates are you most excited to see in person on Day 1?
