Making memories between events on Track Day!

Hurdles on track day: equal parts athleticism and survival!

SAVE THE DATE:

Westview's Grade 9 Farewell Ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 25. Doors to the school will open at 12:30 and the ceremony will start promptly at 1:00.

Students and guests do not require tickets for the ceremony; however, we do need to know the expected number of guests in order to prepare for the event.

Grade 9 Parents, please check your emails for an email and link to a survey.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, May 13th, is Westview's Junior High Track & Field day! Students have signed up for events during their PhysEd classes and have been practicing over the past few weeks. The weather is looking great for tomorrow and we want to remind students to dress for the weather, bring sunscreen and remember a water bottle.

Parents are welcome to come and watch your child compete in track events. Your child can let you know which events they have signed up for. The age categories are as follows:

Junior - students are 12 and under as of September 1, 2025
Intermediate - students are 13 as of September 1, 2025
Senior - students are 14 or older as of September 1, 2025

IMPORTANT - PARKING: There is plenty of parking up by the Glenn Hall Arena. We ask that parents do not park in our staff parking lot.

Track & Field is a wonderful event and staff and students are looking forward to the day tomorrow!

UNDERSTANDING TRACK HOT LUNCH 🔽

K-6 Students will have their food delivered to their class as per usual, meaning; K-6 students need to order their lunches for track on the hot lunch site.

7-9 Students have the option to either order on the hot lunch site OR they may purchase food at the live concession on FULL CONCESSION track dates ONLY.

* No student in any grade will be denied purchasing food if they NEED to come to concession on full concession days, however to do so their teacher gets pulled from the class to take them, so please be mindful with younger grades to try to use the hot lunch system.

If you are able to please consider signing up for a shift and coming out to help us run the track and field concessions later this month. These events only run if we have volunteers.

Students had a wonderful time participating in the AHSDA One Acts Festival performing Us and Them by David Campton. Students returned to Westview with an award for outstanding ensemble work! Competing alongside 9 other Alberta schools for the first time in ages, students gathered valuable experience in the theatrical arts. Well done Westview Theatre Arts!

Congrats to Paige Gilks and Ben Harding for winning silver at Badminton Finals yesterday! 🌟
