And then there were three! We are so excited to welcome Misty Morning Sky to our little herd! Misty is a 13 year old Tennessee Walking Horse. I love buckskins, and she is special even more so because of her “sooty” coloring.

And the feed shed finally has a table! Now I can get a bit more organized. The open bags will eventually get used up (trying to consolidate from 6 different feeds for two horses to only 2-3 feeds) and everything will be in bins.

Bit of a damp morning due to the rain (thank goodness!). The kittens didn’t mind though, and neither did the child!

It’s like a bajillion degrees outside today, so we’re chillin’ by the pool. Even the kittens dont mind getting a bit damp when little one pets them!

I do believe Ms Erika has gained some weight! This is always a difficult thing with her, but I am glad to see a little less of her ribs!

Poor Elizabeth wants so badly for Erika to share her delicious kibble-mush. But, Elizabeth has gained a ton of weight already just from being on grass 24/7 , so she does not need any more calories, especially the high calorie stuff Erika gets! (Don’t worry, Mizz Liz does get a little snack too, to make it fair… but it’s 100g of very basic complete feed, compared to Erika’s over a kg of high fat, high protein speciality feeds… so she’s still jealous).

Well, I am satisfied that regular chalk will, in fact, make legible words on a horse! If you’re curious as to why that is important, it’s something we do in equine assisted learning exercises… I’ve not used it in any yet, and I wasn’t convinced that regular chalk would do the trick, but clearly I was wrong!
