Please join us on Tuesday, September 29 at 1:00 PM for our annual Orange Shirt Day Memorial Walk.

We will gather outside on the school tarmac (basketball court area). Our ceremony will begin with a smudge, followed by an Honor Song shared by an Elder, before we head out on our memorial walk.

This walk is an opportunity for our school community to come together to honor and remember the Indigenous children who attended residential schools, as well as the children who never returned home.

All parents, guardians, and family members are welcome to walk alongside us. We encourage students and families to wear orange.

Our students had the opportunity to hear Kirsten Fox, niece to Terry Fox, speak from the Terry Fox Foundation this morning. This was the kickoff to our school's Terry Fox project which will culminate with our run, on September 28th. Be sure to ask your child what they learned about Terry Fox at our school-wide assembly!

What a way to kick off a new school year! 💚🐉

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Back-to-School BBQ today. We had an AMAZING turnout, and it was so good to see our Forest Green families back together again. The conversations, hugs, laughs, familiar faces, and plenty of new ones made for a pretty great start to the year.

We also know that finding a time for an event like this that works for every family is nearly impossible. To those who weren’t able to make it today, you were missed! We can’t wait to see you tomorrow and officially welcome everyone back through our doors.

And speaking of tomorrow…Mrs. Day and Ms. Niebergall have had a front-row seat to all of the work happening behind the scenes these past few days. Our staff are BACK, and watching them prepare their classrooms, plan for their students, work together, problem solve, laugh, and pour so much into getting ready for tomorrow has us incredibly excited for the year ahead. There is a pretty special crew inside this building, and they are READY for your kids. 💚

Now all we’re missing is them!

Sleep well, Dragons. Tomorrow, we’re back. 🐉💚
