Congratulations to our Summer BBQ and Booze Raffle winners!

Starting Blocks will be selling BBQ and Booze raffle tickets at Family Foods in Stonewall for 10am to 4pm today. Please help support us recover from the flood.

The day has come, 23 years of love, pride and dedication to the child care field. Today we celebrate our teacher Bev and congratulate her in her well deserved retirement!

Bev, your kind, warm welcoming presence will be missed everyday within Starting Blocks doors, however we know the huge part you play in the community we have no doubt that will continue to be demonstrated around this town and beyond.

Fun fact did you know the reason we call our educators “teacher_____” rather then “Mrs. or Mr.” is because of teacher Bev! If you ever had your first day at Starting Blocks you were likely greeted and introduced to teacher Bev.

Bev played a huge role in our nursery school program and has spent the last 6 years in our full time Sprouts program.

Bev graciously hosted numerous staff Christmas parties for the centre and she always welcomed everyone into her home with a hug. We feel that is the perfect way to describe teacher Bev, she has a way of making everyone feel at home.

Over 23 years Bev has cared for, nurtured and supported so many children in our community, if you or your child/ren were lucky enough to be one of them, we’re sure you have numerous stories and memories to share!

With our current flooding situation, we need as much support as possible to get up and running again.

We want to thank our village for coming to the rescue. In just 2 hours we were able to salvage what we could, and get our space emptied. We are so grateful for your support.

As many of you are aware, we have 3 locations that have flooded.
Our United Church location has just made us aware that we need to remove our contents from the United Church site as soon as possible so they can start clean up. We are going to move it to main site tonight. If anyone is available to help we’re planning to meet at United Church to get started around 5:30 pm. Do you have time and a truck or trailer? We appreciate any help anyone can give!!! It takes a village!!!!

All of us at Starting Blocks want to thank all families for their understanding as we navigate flooding at two of our 4 sites!!! Many staff have flooding in their homes as well or cannot get out in vehicles due to high flood waters. We are working with insurance to get this all cleaned up and have all our sites reopened as quickly as possible. We look forward to seeing you all back asap.
