Our friends at the Stonewall United Church are holding a fundraiser on October 25th, 2026! Join them for a fun afternoon with proceeds going towards flood recovery renovations. Help support the Stonewall United Church so our On the Move program can return home soon.

This morning the Hive and Sprouts enjoyed frog hunting in the wonderful outdoor space we get to explore while at our temporary location, we’re so lucky the back yard is huge!
We discovered that when we sang “5 green and speckled frogs” it was almost as if the frogs could hear us because they would always appear as we sung , which turns out is pretty funny!
We found green frogs, brown frogs, “kitty tails”, crickets, huge sunflowers, big beautiful orange butterflies and so much more. We love exploring what this season has to offer. 🍁

The Town of Stonewall is a great place to call home. The Town is located along Provincial Trunk Highway 67. Stonewall is just 25 kilometers north of Manitoba's capital city, Winnipeg.

The day has come, 23 years of love, pride and dedication to the child care field. Today we celebrate our teacher Bev and congratulate her in her well deserved retirement!

Bev, your kind, warm welcoming presence will be missed everyday within Starting Blocks doors, however we know the huge part you play in the community we have no doubt that will continue to be demonstrated around this town and beyond.

Fun fact did you know the reason we call our educators “teacher_____” rather then “Mrs. or Mr.” is because of teacher Bev! If you ever had your first day at Starting Blocks you were likely greeted and introduced to teacher Bev.

Bev played a huge role in our nursery school program and has spent the last 6 years in our full time Sprouts program.

Bev graciously hosted numerous staff Christmas parties for the centre and she always welcomed everyone into her home with a hug. We feel that is the perfect way to describe teacher Bev, she has a way of making everyone feel at home.

Over 23 years Bev has cared for, nurtured and supported so many children in our community, if you or your child/ren were lucky enough to be one of them, we’re sure you have numerous stories and memories to share!
